Rise Up Privacy Policy
We take the privacy of your Personal Data and other information seriously. Because of that, we have created this Privacy Policy which includes important information regarding your Personal Data and other information. This Policy was last updated on October 15th 2013 and will remain in force until further notice.

Use of Cookies
Cookies are small data files that may be stored on your computer by websites that are visited. Many cookies enhance the use of a website by remembering user preferences or helping website owners to see which pages or links are most popular. Recent legislation means that all website owners must now inform users of how cookies are used on their sites. For more information about cookies visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

1. Rise Up does not use any cookies. However, like millions of other websites we use Google Analytics to help us make our website more effective and Google Analytics does use cookies. These ‘performance’ cookies tell us how many people use our site, what they click on and what errors were experienced, for example. They do not collect any personally identifiable information about users. Use of the Rise Up website implies that you are happy for your anonymous use of the site to be logged by these performance cookies in order to help us. If you would like to opt out of these cookies then please click here to visit a Google page where you can read about an add-on that installs in your browser to prevent these cookies from loading. The add-on works with Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Opera.

2. To allow users to take full advantage of our website and to allow people to complete application forms in order to to join Rise Up as mentees, mentors or supervisors, we use links to third-party web sites* unconnected to Rise Up. These well-known websites all use a variety of cookies to perform various tasks. Once a link to one of these websites has been clicked (e.g. via a Facebook or Twitter button), or a page on this website is opened which contains any of their services (e.g. a YouTube video, Google Docs Form or Google Map), then we do not have any control over how these websites use cookies.

*The third-party websites linked via this website are:
Google Maps and Google Docs

Users who do not wish to allow cookies from these websites to be placed on their computers should refrain from using their services on the Rise Up website and should not click on any link to an external websites. This will limit the functionality of the Rise Up website and, in particular, users will be unable to apply to join the programme using the Google Docs Form page. Users who have concerns are advised to visit the third-party websites to view their Cookie and Privacy Policies and to see which cookies are being used and for what purposes. It might be possible to limit or stop their use of cookies but in doing so functionality of their services or products will almost certainly be curtailed. The relevant Privacy Policies may be visited by clicking on the website names above.

3. Links to the various Rise Up partners’ websites are provided on some pages on this website and we have no control over the use of cookies on these web sites either. Users who have concerns should not click on the links. Each partner should have their Privacy and Cookie Policies displayed on their websites.

4. Users are reminded that cookies may normally be disabled via the preferences option in their web browser. Any changes made to these settings will then apply to all websites visited, and functionality may be lost as a result.

Using the Google Docs Forms services via our Booking Pages
Like many other programme and event providers across the world, Rise Up uses Google Docs Forms to provide the application form for our training programme. Use of the Google Docs service is beyond our control and users are asked to view the Google Privacy and Cookie Policy available here if they would like more information about how their data will be used and protected, and what cookies are set during the registration process.

Any data passed to Rise Up by Google Docs will only be used by the partner organisations for the purpose of administering the programme. We do not pass any data we receive to third parties. Rise Up complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 and all data will be stored and used in accordance with the Act.
