Rise Up is a leadership development programme for Christian teenagers, developed by South West Youth Ministries (SWYM) and Urban Saints. Over the past few years, hundreds of young people from over eighty churches across the South West have successfully completed the programme.

Rise Up runs from November through to the following August and is designed to develop faith, character and leadership potential through fortnightly meetings with a personal mentor and termly Rise Up training days.

Over the course of the year, young leaders will meet regularly with a mentor, usually from their local church. During these mentoring sessions, you will work through a resource book which you get to choose at the first training day.

The mentoring sessions are designed to encourage young leaders, and help them reflect over the past couple of weeks, set aims for the coming weeks, and develop in faith, character and leadership.

Training Days

We run a Rise Up Training Day on a Saturday every term and teenagers attend all three training days with their mentors. Each day is different and they are packed full of helpful and fun activities, challenging teaching slots, inspiring worship and lots of time to be with other young leaders.

Mentors will also receive training sessions at these days to equip and encourage them to help their young leader grow.

You can find the dates for this year here.

The fee to join the programme is a single payment of £49. This covers all of the study and training materials, access to the training days each term and support from the Rise Up team for a young leader and their mentor.
